Slide, Turn, Flip - Maths

 Annyeonghaseyo readers!

For the last week we have split into year groups for math, the year 6 had to do perimeters while the years 5 had to do translation rotation. What I did as a year 5 is we had to get some paper then we got letters we had to cut them up. Then we put in our paper slide, turn and flip so starting with slide we had to put this letter to the side like this : z  ------->   z we also had to put an arrow, next is turn turn is when the letter is normal but then the other letter is lying down, and flip is flipping your letters so like an R you flip an R to the other way.

After we all cut up our letters we glued them into the piece of paper. Something i found easy is kind of cutting the paper, something I found hard is cutting the little parts of the letters what mean is if they have a hole in them like an R. I hope you understand it if you look at the picture :)

Last week in Miss Mcleod's Inquiry we did Air pollution, But this week we are learning about Water pollution. So first we got our partners then we had a piece of paper and we had to write about what causes air pollution that we know. Metaphors With Ms Hodgson.

Today in writing we did mini lessons, and what did we do for mini lesson? We did Metaphors with Ms H. It was kind of hard to do because I find Metaphors hard but Simile's are easy for me to. The words your often suppose to use is 'was' 'is' 'were' 'are'. Why did I find metaphors hard? it's because I cant use the words 'as' or 'like' because are like describing things so. The thing that I found easy is I guess really nothing...

Wonder

For a couple of weeks in reading we have been reading about Wonder. Miss McLeod found this website where you can make your own wonder character I tried making my own wonder character and it also has a preset at the end of it and you can screenshot it so that's what it's pretty cool. I found it super easy also super fun. I didn't find anything that was a short hair with bangs I only say long hair with and this is all I could get.

Mystery Of The Missing Gingerbread House

For the last 2 days we have been doing an activity in Maths of 'Mystery Of The Missing Gingerbread House'. We had to solve the gingerbread problems, we had to figure out who was the thief yesterday we had a sheet which had activity 1 and 2 today we had activity 3 and 4. On clue 2 we had to figure out if it was a female or a male and it was a female. On Question 4 we had to figure out the shapes and the riddles  and there were keys leading to it. The thief was a child and she was Irena Vicks. I found it a bit hard and I didn't find anything easy.

How To Detect Fake Websites And Real Websites

Lat week in  Cybersmart we did an activity about "Phishing". We looked at Mrs McG computer to look at the pictures we had to solve it was called phishing'phishing'  phishing is about fake websites. last week we looked at "Tree Octopus Website" Tree octopus  are not obviously real they are fake. We also looked at fake emails and fake websites that have been shown to us . This week we did an activity about writing down  whats safe and not safe on the internet we had to be in three groups,  My group were Vernon and Riansha. We wrote 'Whats safe on  the internet  and not safe'. Here is the website if you want to look at this fake websites The tree octopus website. Make sure to always look at the website if it has a lock on it and also it has no typos and in your emails it doesn't say "Dear Friend" instead of their real name. Rounding up decimals to the nearest tenth

Today in Miss Williamson's maths we did a sheet about rounding Decimals To The Nearest Tenth. It was hard for me to do because I didn't know how to do decimals. I was struggling until I got some help. When the teacher helped me I still didn't get it until the end. I found everything hard for this sheet. I didn't find anything easy at all.
